Title: Old Mother Hubbard
“ Old Mother Hubbard,
She went to the cupboard
To fetch her poor dog a bone,
But when she got there,
The cupboard was bare,
And so the poor dog had none.”
Lesson 1
In this lesson our teacher wants to teach our students the meaning and the pronunciation of each word in the nursery rhyme. Here are some examples of how we explain the meaning to our students.
Old mother = an old lady like a grandmother.
Hubbard = name of this old lady.
Cupboard = wooden cabinet.
